Dear Sir/Madam
Agri SA has commissioned the renowned Bureau of Market Research (BMR) at the University of South Africa (Unisa) to conduct a national crime survey in the South African agricultural sector during the first quarter of 2018. The need for the research emanates from Agri SA’s commitment to a safe agricultural environment. For this purpose, updating crime statistics is essential to validate the accuracy of existing data to monitor future trends and to assess and design crime prevention initiatives in collaboration with the government and members of Agri SA.
Against this brief background, you are invited to willingly participate in the survey that will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The BMR Research Ethics Review Committee (RERC) has officially approved the study. To adhere to research ethics, please note that all information provided by you will be treated confidentially and will only be used for research purposes in a consolidated way. If required, you may also withdraw your participation at any stage. Once you consent to participate, you are requested to respond honestly and objectively to all relevant questions.
For any enquiries related to the survey, you are welcome to contact Prof. Deon Tustin (012 - 429 3156 or tustidh@unisa.ac.za), Prof. Carel van Aardt (012 – 429 2940 or Vaardcj@unisa.ac.za), Prof. Paul Kibuuka (012 – 429 8234 or kibuup@unisa.ac.za) or Mr Kobus Visser, Agri SA (012 - 643 3400 or kobus@agrisa.co.za).
